PLUMBING SYSTEMS

Goals & Objectives

The goal of this course is to provide information on interior plumbing systems and associated components to aid the home inspector in evaluating the condition of the plumbing components commonly encountered during a home inspection.

Upon completion of this course the student should be able to:

  1. Identify and describe common water supply and drainage systems and materials

  2. Identify and describe fuel supply systems and materials

  3. Inspect the plumbing and fuel supply systems in accordance with home inspection industry standards

  4. Understand the common concerns and issues related to plumbing systems

  5. Determine the physical condition of plumbing systems components

  6. Identify the presence of common plumbing systems deficiencies

  7. Assess the significance of observed plumbing system defects

  8. Utilize common reporting approaches to inform a homebuyer of inspection findings
